A méretes biliárdgolyókká alakított hajózási ütközőbóják a víz mozgásának engedve hol lágyan ringatóznak, hol pedig egy elhaladó hajó keltette hullámmozgást követnek a folyó felszínén. Azonban a biliárdban megszokottaktól eltérően, itt a külső hatás nem a golyók pozícióját változtatja meg, hanem rögzített helyzetükben maradva az alattuk lévő vízfelület áramlása hozza mozgásba őket.
A helyszín kiválasztásában nem csupán a környezet adottságai, fizikai paraméterei, belváros-közeli fekvése, hanem ezeken túl a partszakasz archeológiája is szerepet kapott.
A sokféleképpen megörökített városkép legismertebbjei közé tartoznak a Duna felőli ábrázolások. A nyári szezonban ezt a látképet kívánja színes gömbjeivel játékosan kiegészíteni a River-pool.
RIVER POOL is a temporary spatial installation in the Szentendre branch of the Danube, with a visual focus, playful also in its title. This airy, lightweight piece is site-specific, quite large-scale, and gives the impression of being spontaneously placed there. At first sight, it is much more of a playful adventure for the eye than an intellectual question for the mind.
The buoys in the form of oversized pool-balls gently rock with the rhythm of the water, or follow the waves of ships passing by on the surface. However, unlike the usual game of pool, these external effects do not shift the position of the balls, but they stay fixed in their position, while the current under the surface sets them in motion.
The archaeology of the riverbank also played a part in the choice of location, together with the characteristics and physical parameters of the environs and the proximity to the town centre.
This installation is located close to the site of the ancient port, which was the centre of trade, and the waterway to reach the distant points of Europe. It played a significant role in making Szentendre’s wine culture famous, as well as giving a boost to the latter flourishing of its architectural and artistic culture.
In terms of appearance, the buoys are precise copies of the colours and numbering of real pool-balls. It doesn’t take long, however, to detect some irregular ones among them, with unusual markings, to complete the customary set. They indicate their neutral autonomy from both the groups of solids and stripes with their white colour. The markings on their sides are three different versions of the 18th century insignia of the Privilegiális Szentendrei Kereskedők Társasága (Society of Privileged Tradesmen of Szentendre), well-known in Szentendre even today.
Those who wore this symbol played a significant role in the flourishing trade and cultural diversity that is still faithfully reflected in the town’s preserved Baroque cityscape. This unique atmosphere welcomed generations of painters, and for the most part, it still greets visitors today.
Among the many variations of the recorded cityscape, among the most familiar are depictions from the Danube. This is exactly the view River-pool aims to playfully complement during the summer season.

A munka a megújult múzeumi törvény, multifunkcionális tér, műalkotás fogalmi háromszögének paradoxonait, problémáit tematizálja, arra kíván a képzőművészet eszközeivel reflektálni.
My work focuses on and seeks to find an answer to the paradoxes and problems of the conceptual triangle of the reformed museum act, multifunctional space and the artwork by means of fine art. A word related to the basic functions of museums, as determined by the law, has been carved into the sheet on the bow of each schematized, sinking boat. (collection, presentation, conservation. In accordance with the new, extended responsibilities, the inscription ’researches, educates, entertains’ appears on the fifth boat.). The design resembling folded paper ships seeks to suggest provisionality and vulnerability. In the yard, on the side of the unfunctional stone blocks serving as mere architectural gestures, headwords belonging to the umbrella term ’receptive, multifunctional, multicultural space’ are running round in two lines, in a similar way, cut in galvanised sheet. The position of the boats on the site is random and alterable.

installation, Déri Museum, Debrecen
A debreceni Déri Múzeum kupolatermének kör alakú termében elszórt rendezetlenségben hat darab méretes dobókockára emlékeztető kubust helyeztem el. A kockák két oldalukon módosított, egyébként pöttyökkel ellátott, egyszínű, homogén tárgyak. A szavak a múzeumi törvényben rögzített alapfunkciókat formázzák, úgymint: gyűjtés; megőrzés; kiállítás; publikálás.
Six pieces of large cubes reminiscent of dice are placed in disorder in the round Dome Hall of the Déri Museum. The cubes are homogeneous, single coloured but dotted objects modified on two of their sides. Dots are not painted but appear deepened on the sides. (The number of cubes: 5 pieces of white and 1 piece of black, 45x45x52 cm each.) The irregular side of the cube depicts the schematized pictogram of the museum with four columns; its roof design with an angle of 15 degrees reminds us of the well-known sign of traffic boards. Thus, the object being created is a combination of a large-scale die and a small-scale building of a museum with classicist features. The cubes are found on the floor in playful disorder, as if they have just rolled out from the hands of an imaginary gambler. There are benches belonging to the building at the edge of the room which indicate the presence of invisible gamblers. According to the new context, the pattern of the covering of the suitcases might be interpreted as a game field suggesting unknown rules. Each cube has a nonfigurative concept written in ash on the floor. The curving text shows the presumptive ground track of the cube. The words of the text form the basic functions of the museums by law, such as collection, prevention, exhibition, publication, restoration, and registration. In my opinion, this piece of work becomes specialized to the physical space of this part of the building not only in a formal aspect but also in a circumstantial aspect, since it tries to reflect on the anomaly which was caused by the recent renovation works of the building, that became a general phenomenon over the past few years in Hungary.

Franz Reichelt (a.k.a. the flying tailor) memorial year 2012.
Mr. Franz Reichelt, the Austrian tailor tried out his self designed flying coat exactly 100 years ago on the 4th of February 1912. He jumped off the first floor of the Eiffel tower in the presence of a great crowd and many cameras as well. Although several calculations, modeling with puppets, and jumps from lower altitude were carried out before, his final jump, his experiment had remained finally the last and an unrepeatable action. The name of the tailor was marked in history due to his fatal action, though not the way he planned. Now his name is mentioned in every Paris guidebook with enough details.
The experiment of Reichelt can be considered as an archetype of parachuting or the Batman type BASE jumping, which has become wide-spread just recently among the lovers of extrem sports.(not to confuse it with bungee jumping which is done with a rope) His name is mentioned in several places as a pioneer of the early parachuting in spite of the fact that his last experiment ended in failure. His character symbolizes an ever returning great desire of humankind to conquer the atmosphere, and to gain unlimited liberty from his own sources.
On the 4th February 2012, during my exhibition, there will be a centenary of the above mentioned event. A monument will be raised in memory of this very special event by my exhibition, though this event is only a marginal one in the history of technology.
In this project I consider myself a competent person, because earlier in my works I have been dealing with this historical context heavily, expanded art interpretation and application of dress pattern. With this project I wish to deal with further details of this topic in the frame of pseudo-festival, spread over to other places this year as well.

Franz Reichelt (más néven a repülő szabó) emlékév 2012.
2012. február 4-én, a kiállítás idején, centenáris évfordulója lesz a történteknek. A projekt ennek a technikatörténeti szempontból meglehetősen marginális, másfelől nagyon különös eseménynek állít emléket.
Érintett személynek érzem magam a munkaterv kapcsán, mivel korábban sokat foglalkoztam munkáimban a szabásminta alkalmazásával, kiterjesztett képzőművészeti értelmezésével, történeti kontextusaival. A projektben e problémakör újabb jelentésrétegeit kívánom felfejteni az egész évre és a későbbiekben több helyszínre kiterjedő pszeudo-ünnep keretében.
